I took this photograph at Mr. Mel Brooks’ performance in Los Angeles. This performance was part of a tour was produced in partnership between Mills Entertainment and CAA, with events that included a screening of his film Blazing Saddles followed by a moderated discussion with Mr. Brooks on stage. The original purpose of this series of photographs was to document the event, but it later went on to be used in other promotional designs.
I took this photograph at Mr. Mel Brooks’ performance in Los Angeles in 2017. This performance was part of a tour was produced in partnership between Mills Entertainment and CAA, with events that included a screening of his film Blazing Saddles followed by a moderated discussion with Mr. Brooks on stage. The original purpose of this series of photographs was to document the event, but it later went on to be used in other promotional designs.
Following the Blazing Saddles tour, Mr. Brooks embarked on a second tour with performances of similar format the above with his film Spaceballs. In this new promotional poster I used the original Spaceballs title font and re-created the show title in 3D space using Photoshop. The poster used my own photograph of Mr. Brooks’ image from his previous Los Angeles performance, and images of the movie characters licensed from a third party website. The image of Mr. Brooks underwent several edits for this poster, including removal of wrinkles and the addition of stage lighting effect.
